Caroline Walden
anchored the Boston College defense ranked in
the No. 1 spot in the Northeast Regional by both
the NSCAA and Soccer Buzz in 2007. And was one
of the top defensive teams in the nation. The
Eagles ranked ninth in the nation in goals
against average (0.504), tied for 10th in
shutout percentage (0.579) and tied for 14th in
save percentage (0.867). Boston College played
host to the 1st and 2nd
Rounds of the NCAA Tournament, getting knocked
out by Uconn at home.

Reds PENN STATE PAIR Naeher and Schoepfer Earn
All-America Honors
Alyssa Naeher makes first-team,
while Katie Schoepfer earns a
spot on the second team. The two lead Penn State
in a another successful season for the Lions.
In 2007, Penn State captured its 10th straight
Big Ten title and earned the No. 1 seed in the
NCAA Tournament for the second time in three
years. The team was knocked out of the NCAA
Tournament in the 3rd Round.

REDS CENTRAL PLAYER HONORED
Leah Blayney - A first team
All-Northeast Conference honoree in her first
season with CCSU, was also honored by the New
England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer
Association. Blayney, who started every game,
had three goals and two assists from her center
midfield position. The Katoomba, New South
Wales native scored game-winners in back-to-back
contests versus Robert Morris and Mount St.
Mary's and added a score against FDU.
REDS FAIRFIELD PLAYERS HONORED BY MAAC
Brett Maron (Billerica, Mass.)
and Casey Frobey (Sandy Hook,
Conn.) rounded out the postseason selections for
Fairfield, being voted to the All-MAAC Second
Team. Maron, a senior, posted a career-best 103
saves this season, with a save percentage of
.837. She notched seven shutouts and boasts a
goals-against average of 0.97. For Frobey, the
selection is her second in her collegiate
career. She is the top goal scorer in the MAAC,
touching net 11 times in the regular season,
including four game-winning tallies. She is
second on the team, and third in the MAAC, with
26 points.
