SoccerPlus Camper Quote: |
"The
fields were always in great shape a
little beat up around the goal but
that's to be expected, other than
that they were the best grass fields
I've played on. The food always
something to look forward to after a
training session."
"Fields where in great shape."
"It was very clean and a nice
place to stay." |
|
SoccerPlus Staff Quote: |
"Quiet campus,
great fields."
"Some of the dorms are old. Dining
Hall can be crowded at times." |

Local
sites of Interest: |
Northfield is a very
small New England town,
Greenfield, Massachusetts is the
easiest town (larger than 5,000
people) to reach from campus. The
next two larger towns, in order of
ease of access, are Brattleboro,
Vermont, and Keene, New Hampshire. |

Site
History: |
Northfield Mount
Hermon, located in western
Massachusetts, encompasses 1,100
scenic acres on the wooded banks of
the Connecticut River and is near
the borders of Vermont and New
Hampshire. One of the best-known
private secondary schools in the
country, Northfield Mount Hermon
School began as two separate
institutions: the Northfield
Seminary for Young Ladies, founded
in 1879, and the Mount Hermon School
for Boys, which opened in 1881.

About
the Cafeteria: |
Food at Northfield
Mount Hermon has to meet three
criteria: it has to be good for you,
it has to be good for the planet,
and you have to want to eat it. So
we serve things like mahi mahi with
pineapple salsa, vegetarian
fettuccini, make-your-own-stir fry,
and herb and oat breads. For
dessert, there might be blueberry
pie or peanut butter bars. There are
lots of choices, including
vegetarian options, and our cooks
love suggestions almost as much as
they love “Chef’s Choice,” popular
meals at which they really show off
their culinary skills. |
About
the
Dorms: |
The
dorms have great amenities. One has
giant bedrooms, another, a garden
lounge. Some have terraces or a TV
room; you might find a snack bar or
a full kitchen. They all have a
public computers and a printer and
of course you can access the
Internet and NMH network from your
room. |

About
the
Fields: |
The fields at NHM get
very little use throughout the year
and are usually in perfect shape
upon our arrival. The fields are set
up and lined to maximize our space
and the whole area is surrounded by
trees which makes training sessions
quiet and easy to focus. |
